The change I am championing is giving unhindered access, quality education/learning opportunities, to every Nigerian child irrespective of their social economic background. This is to equip and support children with necessary skills to develop into responsible citizens.

About the innovation

Why did you create this innovation?

Because we believe education is a right of every child, our innovation works on two major educational issues across Africa, especially in Nigeria. The two major problems are the out - of - school children and the children with learning disabilities. While Nigeria records the highest figure globally, 20 million, Africa alone has about 98 million children who are out - of - school based on 2022 UNESCO Report.

What does your innovation look like in practice?

We are solving the problems through clustering system of learning in which children are grouped based on their learning needs and abilities to take instructions from their teachers. This approach is different from age - classification approach commonly adopted by the conventional schools. Learning needs are identified on spot and relevant pedagogical approaches are designed to help the learners. This promotes inclusion and diversity.

How has it been spreading?

Yes, we have worked directly with 300 Nigerian households creating homeschooling systems under personalised supervision. We work with schools as well to improve the learning experiences of learners in the conventional school systems.

How have you modified or added to your innovation?

We have a future plan to scale our innovation using technology and media visibility to reach more beneficiaries across Africa, most importantly, Nigeria - It's highest number of children who are out - of - school.

If I want to try it, what should I do?

Implementation steps

Learning Steps
• Parents reach out via references or online
• They are booked for interviews to interact with our psychologists.
• We visit their households for further investigation of their home cultures and to engage their children with our profiling processes.
• We make our recommendation for either homeschooling or learning supports based on our observations.
• We recommend curriculum and instruction materials and assign teachers
• We supervise the learning tasks through daily and weekly reports
Learning Feedback / Evalaution
• Learners are evaluated internally (to monitor learning goals and objectives) and externally (to see if they are catching up with the national curriculum expectations)
