Learning through movement with racket and ball

Street Racket - anyone, anytime, anywhere

location_on Switzerland
Street Racket from Switzerland is a unique and very versatile concept that brings education, sport and empowerment to ALL at the grassroots level. We focus on active learning in motion and we follow our mission without any barriers. The kids (and everyone else) benefit from social, easy and fun learning following the main curricula in maths, languages and common knowledge as well as life skills.

about the innovation

Why did you create this innovation?

Children need to move and they are not made to sit around! Many schools are aware that learning through movement has many positive effects. Learning is easier, deeper and more fun. Oxygen is provided to increase motivation and concentration, and the Street Racket games are also ideal to fight myopia (too much screen time!). Our concept is the perfect tool while being inexpensive and sustainable.

How does your innovation work in practice?

Our concept has been implemented and highly appraised in hundreds of schools around the world. The feedback from the teachers clearly confirms: the children enjoy learning with our games more and that the input is sustainably anchored.
The simple rules ensure long rallies, feelings of success & belonging. They feature an ideal rhythm to combine motorskill based games with cognitive aspects and learning opportunities. Indoors or outdoors, the courts can be made with street chalk, spray, paint, tape or other materials. Other positive effects include promoting motor skills, coordination and community.
One goal is to make it accessible to everyone and therefore promote gender equality, integration and inclusion. No expensive investments are needed and there is no maintenance or no infrastructure to worry about.
We follow the train-the-trainer method, a free app with 100+ games, very popular teaching & exercise books, online certifications and virtual content platforms are available.

How has it been spreading?

Street Racket is a fast growing global movement that is spreading through various channels. Word of mouth, social media, tv, radio, newspapers, PE and educational magazines, sports federations, collaborations, famous ambassadors – but mainly thanks to the fact that ANYONE can play and enjoy our ideas ANYWHERE and ANYTIME! After only three years of presence, Street Racket has arrived in more than 60 countries, is moving thousands of people a day and we are getting requests from all over the world for collaboration, webinars, physical workshops, and interviews almost on a daily basis. But the world is a very big place and the world needs instruments like Street Racket now more than even and that’s why we want to connect with big networks to spread our visions even faster.

If I want to try it, what should I do?

Get a racket (or something similar as a htting device, also a schoolbook, a chopping board...) and a ball! Draw your court within seconds and play! Just follow the only two rules: no downplay, no smash and keep the ball in play! Bring healthy activities to your doorstep instead of having to travel anywhere, zero waste, pure fun. www.streetracket.net/rules
