Why did you create this innovation?

Educators are being left behind in the AI era—isolated, under-supported, and excluded from shaping how technology impacts learning. We created sideby to build a peer-powered network where teachers learn AI together, apply it in their classrooms, and become confident leaders in shaping the future of teaching and learning.

What does your innovation look like in practice?

sideby is an AI-powered learning network for educators. Through a freemium platform, teachers join learning cohorts, engage in guided peer-to-peer conversations, and access curated, AI-generated prompts to grow their practice. The platform uses real-time feedback and educator reflections to adapt matches and surface relevant tools, content, and collaborators. AI also distills insights from community interactions, helping educators and systems learn together. Dashboards visualize growth and trends, while live learning labs and onboarding tools support sustained engagement. Educators don’t passively consume content—they co-create knowledge, share stories, and amplify what’s working across classrooms, schools, and districts. sideby positions educators as drivers of innovation, not recipients of one-size-fits-all training.

How has it been spreading?

sideby launched with over 400 educators across 10 U.S. states and is growing through a mix of educator-led momentum, strategic partnerships, and digital outreach. Our freemium model lowers access barriers and supports organic spread—teachers invite peers, share takeaways, and use sideby to extend in-person training into ongoing AI learning. We’ve seen traction through district referrals, word-of-mouth, and partnerships with professional associations and innovation networks. Have a guided 1:1 conversation with another educator matched to your interests and goals in learning about AI. AI helps surface relevant topics, prompt dialogue, and support reflection. These personalized exchanges are the heart of sideby—deepening practice through meaningful peer connection.

Step 4: Reflect and Receive Insight Artifacts

After your conversation, sideby generates personalized artifacts—insights, quotes, suggested resources, social-ready reflection prompts, and actionable strategies—based on ideas from your exchange. These artifacts help you apply learning in practice, amplify your voice, and fuel continued growth.
