We hope that more students will see the relevance of reading and writing and that they will be engaged and excited about the learning process. We support teachers to be creative in their teaching and this is a framework to create interdisciplinary classrooms and a project environment that sparks curiosity and creativity.

About the innovation

Why did you create this innovation?

We have a mixed age, project based school and we realized that we were always trying to make other things work but that nothing was really designed for the type of education we were creating.

What does your innovation look like in practice?

Small groups, engaged students, teachers with agency, an active classroom, creativity, encouragement, self-reflection, personal growth. Some students will be working in small groups on focused work to support their core learning through engaging material that is being covered in their project unit. Some students will be working directly with the teacher on gaining important skills and some students will be working on ttheir "may dos" having already finished the core work for the day.

How has it been spreading?

This is a new innovation, just getting started, but initial conversations are encouraging.

If I want to try it, what should I do?
