About the innovation

Remote Teaching With ReadTheory

Read Theory is a powerful educational tool that offers online reading activities for all ages and ability levels. Their custom web application adapts to students’ individual ability levels and presents them with thousands of skill-building exercises that suit their needs. Their quizzes span the full range of reading levels, beginning with elementary school reading and ending with the most demanding college-level passages. Their program meets national benchmarks and is aligned with the Common Core State Standards (CCSS).

Teachers who use their program gain the freedom to provide more individualized instruction, and are provided detailed reports so teachers can track student progress using statistics, graphs, and charts. To keep the program fun and motivational, ReadTheory has implemented an array of game mechanics into their program where students earn points and achievement badges along with their reading scores.

How to use ReadTheory

To aid in the transition to online learning, ReadTheory has created a series of videos that should help those new to the program quickly acclimate. These videos go through what ReadTheory is and how to use it effectively. Check out thenew teacher guide videoif you have never been on the site.
