Elephant Ed

Marker Australia
Elephant Ed is Australia's ONLY youth-led sex education company. We send young & passionate presenters to facilitate progressive, inclusive and dynamic sex education workshops to high school students. Our presenters are trained and relatable to teenage students who can finally ask questions they've always wanted the answers to.

What is Elephant Ed?

“Staff member: "Thanks for letting me participate in Elephant Ed's session on sex ed with the Year 9s yesterday. I joined in and found the kids so receptive and the session so helpful - it really targeted their misconceptions, allowing them to raise questions that were asked and answered maturely and without judgement. I just wish I had been given such freedom to learn and ask in this way when I was in Year 8/9. Really enjoyed the experience."”

Sex education, for as long as anyone can remember, has been restricted to explanations of male and female anatomy, followed by descriptions of the bare mechanics of heterosexual activity. A focus on the negative aspects of sexual activity, scaring students with different dangers, all topped off with heterosexual terminology and the blatant disregard for the diverse range of genders and sexualities that are more likely than not present in the room.

As Australia's only youth-led sex education company, Elephant Ed have set out to ensure generations to come are in fact leaving school with a thorough, relevant and inclusive sex education.
