100 million children have been affected educationally by the pandemic, and one of the most damaged continents is LATAM. AkademiApp was born to reverse this setback, through a unique, gamified and personalized platform, designed for students from 1st to 4th grade to develop essential life skills, such as reading, mathematics and executive functions, which are the greatest predictors of success.

The change we want to see as AkademiApp is to reduce the historical educational gaps in LATAM and that more and more children in the continent and the world, have the opportunity to access quality education, quickly and effectively, which translates into more and better opportunities for their future and their families.

About the innovation

Why did you create this innovation?

"Educational earthquake" was the title of the news that motivated us to develop AkademiApp in April 2022, after it was discovered in different studies that, as a result of the pandemic, the loss of learning was brutal and irreversible.
Thus AkademiApp was born, with the aim of being part of the solutions and the purpose of reducing educational gaps quickly and effectively through technology.

What does your innovation look like in practice?

A gamified, entertaining and interactive mobile application, with pedagogical exercises personalized according to the needs of each user, whose technology allows improving the learning and skills of children from 6 to 10 years old in areas such as reading, mathematics, general culture and executive functions, which are considered some of the greatest predictors of success.

How has it been spreading?

AkademiApp was launched after a lot of effort and teamwork, in August 2023. In the first week we already had 250 downloads. In December we explored the B2B model with sales to schools and the same month the first 4 were purchased. Then we were selected as one of the 5 best pitches in Latin America by DFMásPitch, one of the 6 ventures with greater projection of the incubator Startup Chile, one of the 5 ventures with greater social impact in Latam by Koi Ventures Argentina and selected as one of the 12 ventures for the Softlanding Europe program of La Nave España. All this has given us visibility and tools to continue growing, which has allowed us to increase users every month and reach the first 10,000 children. Of those, who have used it on a daily basis, 100% show significant progress.

If you are a parent you can download the app from Google Play or App Store and if you are a school, you should contact the AkademiApp sales team, through email, whatsapp, linkedin, instagram or by filling out the inquiry form on the web.

Implementation steps

Installation and Initial Configuration

AkademiApp is available on the App Store for iOS users and on Google Play for Android users.
Download: Search for 'AkademiApp' and select 'Install'.

First use

The first time you use the app you will need to enter your date of birth, this is a security measure required by the stores. This way we make sure that it is an adult who is using the phone.

On the welcome screen: 1. Accept with a click the terms, conditions and privacy policy.
2. Login using your Google or Apple credentials.

Interactive Onboarding

The first time you log in you will get an informative onboarding, you can skip this step to go directly to your child or student's registration.

User registration

In this section you must register your child only once, only with his/her first name and the year he/she is in school. You're all set for your child to start a meaningful and fun learning process!

Main Screen

You will enter the main screen where you can see different ecosystems if you scroll the screen to the left. Each of the stones you see contains a combination of math, reading and executive functions exercises, such as memory, planning and impulse control. All of these are arranged progressively and have a maximum duration of 15 minutes per day.

Pedagogical diagnosis

The first two stones contain an initial diagnosis that will allow us to see your child's needs and learning preference, i.e. kinesthetic, visual or auditory. Based on this information we will generate a personalized path for your child.
