We believe sustainability is crucial for building a better future, and education is fundamental to achieving this. We must change our approach, becoming more aware of how our actions impact others. Though sustainability isn't perfect, it's our best strategy for continuous improvement.
Over 30 years evaluating more than 450 universities, We have observed that few truly prioritize sustainability. Most limit themselves to isolated environmental initiatives without clear goals or impact measurement.
Universities uniquely influence numerous stakeholders daily. Our Sustainable Accreditation provides a clear pathway toward quality education anchored in sustainability. It includes precise metrics evaluating impact across all 17 SDGs and delivers specialized recommendations, helping institutions focus their efforts effectively to maximize their positive impact.
Higher Education Institutions integrate the Sustainable Development Goals into the core of their strategic approach to quality education. They implement initiatives that simultaneously benefit their community and actively engage stakeholders toward sustainability. Universities use specific metrics to evaluate their impact across each SDG, enhancing accountability and clarity regarding areas for improvement. This process enables institutions to effectively communicate their sustainability achievements, boosting stakeholder engagement and creating a positive feedback loop that strengthens institutional effectiveness and community impact.
We currently have three universities recognized as Sustainable Institutions: the Faculty of Accounting and Administration at the National Autonomous University of Mexico (impacting approximately 25,000 students, faculty, staff, and decision-makers), the Faculty of Public Accounting and Administration at the Autonomous University of Nuevo León (impacting approximately 26,000 individuals), and the Technological University of Tabasco (impacting over 6,000 people). Additionally, three more universities are currently undergoing evaluation, potentially benefiting over 100,000 individuals directly through these six institutions alone, not counting indirect impacts such as vendors and families of students and staff.
The initiative's potential reach is exponential due to the profound institutional changes it fosters. The project's next phase involves adapting the evaluation framework for K-12 institutions and redesigning the service to be modular and incremental, ensuring adaptability across various educational contexts.
We are constantly evaluating and improving our methodology based on insights gathered from the institutions we assess. Initially, we identified some indicators as unclear or overly subjective, while others didn't fully capture the comprehensive impact of university initiatives. Continuous client feedback and regular methodological reviews enable us to adapt effectively, integrating new parameters and responding promptly to emerging trends, thus ensuring our approach remains clear, relevant, and impactful.

In summary, institutions select the campus or campuses they wish to evaluate, receive an estimated cost, sign a contract, and complete the payment process. From that point forward, the process is streamlined: we train a university team in our evaluation methodology so they clearly understand what to prepare and present. A specialized group of evaluators then reviews the submitted evidence, which is subsequently assessed by a dedicated committee. The committee generates a comprehensive report containing official recommendations, which is then formally delivered to the institution.
