Kaisa worked as a special teacher in a class with students with a multitude of challenges. She realized that the traditional way of teaching did not work. Jaakko has worked in the Games industry for over a decade and was bullied at school. Wibes celebrate the strengths of everyone in the community. Our mission with Wibes is to help every student to grow into their full potential!
Wibes is a pedagogical method that uses technology to recognize and develop students’ strengths. Wibes include a structured, easy-to-apply, and gamified Curricula including a program to develop socio-emotional skills in students. Secondary school students utilize Wibes’s digital tools during regular school days or after school. Daily several micro-lessons are dedicated to giving positive feedback to peers. The digital activities engage students and assess their progress in recognizing their personal strengths and the strengths of their peers. In addition, the teaching of socio-emotional skills and character strengths is carried out and embedded into the students' daily lives through a gamified program that includes a variety of tasks and assignments.
We are on a mission embraced by teachers worldwide, and we are credible teachers, researchers, and leading game designers solving our problems based on decades of pedagogical experience. Our early evangelical adopters (10.000s teachers globally) form a community growing through word of mouth. We don’t sell software. We invite teachers to join the movement, and it works. Wibes is based on our original and award-winning concept, Positive CV (SITRA, 2017; EIB 2020), a research-based Finnish education program for developing soft skills through positive psycho. In the following years, our mission is to build a worldwide community of millions of students and their peers to impact the well-being and learning of future skills. We want to scale our solution from schools to communities.
