The next 20-30 years will see dramatic changes in the landscape of skills that young children will need to thrive and grow as dynamic innovations radically change jobs. Yet, education systems continue to teach using outdated pedagogies. UpStudio aimed to redefine and reimagine learning to nurture 21st-century skills among children in an engaging and dynamic environment outside the school system.
UpStudio Africa offers afterschool and weekend courses, camps, and innovation studios across 4 programmatic areas (below). Our courses are engaging and integrate project-based learning and design thinking into our teaching and learning. UpStudio nurtures six skills that help children to be versatile, holistic, and ethical human beings: critical thinking, communication, creativity, collaboration, confidence, and compassion.
- Science Exploration: Scientists ignite their passion for designing, building, and deconstructing scientific theories while building innovative solutions.
- Robotics and Coding: Engineers understand the fundamental principles of programming by leveraging our in-house robots and Artificial Intelligence platforms.
- Entrepreneurship: Entrepreneurs design, prototype, and launch new products and services in global markets.
- Creative Design: Designers explore the creative sector through the eyes of technical experts in photography, fashion, interior design, and more.
UpStudio Africa has built a community of over 400 children from over 70 schools in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania over the past two years. We have offered 50+ different courses across different age levels and different programmes.
