In working with the neurodivergent population, I discovered a repetitive & similar behavioural pattern among students from G1 to G8. The issues stem from challenges related to executive functioning, such as attentional focus, time management, emotional flexibility, and self-regulation. Our goal is to empower neurodivergent children by providing personalised interventions that enhance their EF.
For instance, a G1 student named Darren punched another student Wayne due to an unexpected comment like “You’re so cringed, go away”. However, Darren’s lack of emotional regulation and functional communication skills leave him with no words to express his frustration, hence resorting to physical way.
To maximise learning opportunities for students like Darren and enable teachers to address specific executive functioning challenges, I created Unlimitics. Unlimitics allows teachers to log into our app and document student behaviour, including what happened before and after the incident and the consequences. This information enables Unlimitics to create immediate tailored interventions as a main quest for students to solve.
When Darren logs into his account, the main quest has already been created. The moment Darren reviewed the quest, we already had the first impact on him as he gets to observe himself from a third-person perspective, reflecting on his behaviour & gaining self-awareness.
