Sri Lankan Student Artists Connection (SAC)

place Sri Lanka

Empowering Young Artists, Connecting Creativity.

SAC is a platform designed to empower young artists in Sri Lanka by providing them with a space to showcase their work, connect with peers, and access opportunities for artistic growth. In a society where art is often overlooked, SAC offers a unique solution by fostering a community that encourages collaboration, recognition, and creative development.

Through SAC, I hope to see a positive change in education by building the self-esteem of young artists and encouraging them to pursue their creative passions. The platform aims to develop art education in Sri Lanka by providing students with opportunities to showcase their work, gain recognition, and connect with like-minded individuals.

About the innovation

Why did you create this innovation?

I created SAC to address the lack of platforms for young artists in Sri Lanka. Many talented students face challenges in gaining recognition and support for their work. SAC provides a space for these students to showcase their art, connect with peers, and grow creatively, helping them gain the recognition they deserve and fostering a community that values art and creativity.

What does your innovation look like in practice?

In practice, SAC is an evolving online platform where students can upload their artwork, participate in competitions, and collaborate with other artists. It offers a community-driven space for sharing creative processes and receiving feedback.

How has it been spreading?

So far, SAC is a blog in its early stages, and we are still seeking help to grow and spread the platform. Currently, the community is small, and we're focused on building awareness and getting more students involved. We are actively looking for support in terms of collaboration, resources, and outreach to help SAC grow into a space where young artists can thrive.

If I want to try it, what should I do?

To get started with SAC, young artists can reach out to me via email. Since SAC is in its early stages, artists and supporters can test the platform with me, provide feedback, and share ideas for improvement.
