We created SEE Learning to address the growing need for education that nurtures 21st century competencies of compassion, resilience, systems thinking, awareness and ethical thinking. Traditional academics alone have not prepared students for today’s challenges. SEE Learning empowers students with emotional, social, and systems awareness to build a more compassionate and ethical world.
Innovation in SEE Learning comes to life through fun, engaging, and meaningful classroom experiences. It integrates social, emotional, and ethical learning into daily instruction, not as an add-on, but as a core part of education. Students begin with practices like mindful breathing, emotional check-ins, and reflection to build self-awareness and emotional regulation. Through compassion circles and discussions, they develop empathy, communication, and conflict resolution skills. Role-playing ethical dilemmas encourages critical thinking and ethical decision making. Lessons help students embody interdependence and global challenges like climate change or inequality. Teachers are supported with a structured, trauma-informed approach that’s adaptable to different cultural and school contexts. This innovation empowers students to become compassionate and ethical citizens in an increasingly complex world. SEE Learning is a research-based curriculum with 12 research sites world wide.
SEE Learning is growing through primary affiliate organizations and trained individual facilitators. Primary affiliates are responsible for implementing SEE Learning on a national level. The facilitator training program was developed to equip facilitators to train educators in their native language. SEE Learning is available in 24 languages. Over 600 facilitators around the world have been certified.
To date over 17 million students have been taught SEE Learning in 78 countries. More than 500,000 educators have been engaged in the program. SEE Learning Brazil has provided training to over 10,000 educators. India alone projects that within the next 3 years, more than 80,000 schools will receive SEE Learning in the states of Rajasthan, Odisha, Maharashtra, Jammu and Kashmir, and Ladakh.
