About the innovation

Why did you create this innovation?

The advancement of any economy hinges on the strength of its domestic entrepreneurial ecosystem and the productivity of its workforce. However, Liberia's conventional secondary education model falls short in prioritizing the development of crucial skills such as leadership, entrepreneurship, and technology, essential for workforce success. This deficiency stifles innovation &workforce development.

What does your innovation look like in practice?

The curriculum will be designed and delivered under four principles: entrepreneurial development, socio-emotional growth, behavioral skills, cognitive abilities.

RE-Novate’s model is channeled through the following activities:

Weekly learning workshop. Weekly skills lab for students. Students will learn through group discussions, case studies methods and individual projects.

Monthly seminar. Masterclasses with practitioners and experts. Four learning workshops will be conducted at each school - convening all RE-Novate Fellows.

Learning Excursion. Guided tours at local Liberian businesses and international institutions. Students will learn through group discussions and information sessions.

Mentoring. Fellows will pair up with a mentor in their aspirational field.

Project development. Fellows will build social impact projects/ventures in the program.

Paid internships. Fellows will be matched with local enterprises for paid internships, skills and experience building.
