In the first 6 months before its founding Mr Prince Ngobeni did a rapid assessments of existing youth programs in the region to discover a death of serious structured interventions with young people in the area.
Most of the community members voiced a need to build leadership among youth, educators expressed their concerns and difficulties in mobilizing youth for social action initiatives
As a tough village with many of the same problems faced by similar mostly rural minority neighborhoods, we heard too much about crime, substance abuse, obesity, lack of information, school drop outs, Inequality and unemployment but all that will change because Pskwi Youth Development plays a huge role in the transformation of youth now instead of seeing young kids hang around on streets corners with nothing to do but engage an illicit activity, you might see kids enjoy a game of soccer they pride themselves on stroked balls, they shake hands cordially at the end of the match, all this after they have finished their home works with the help of tutors. A comprehensive program of sports and academic tutoring that promotes the physical, educational and life skills is necessary to prepare and empower youth for leadership in their communities and success in their personal lives, our program uses the first serve life skills curriculum by providing programs that promote positive values
Pskwi Youth Development managed to mobilise youth and engage them in daily participation without any resources or funding and we are hope to reach more people especially foreign donors to take part in our movement
