I created MY CHILD PROGRAM because every child deserves the opportunity to learn, play, be protected, express themselves, and reach their full potential, regardless of where they live or their circumstances.
Through my experience working with children and in Early Childhood Development, I observed that many children, particularly those in underserved and rural communities, have limited access to quality early learning resources, engaging educational content, and information about their rights. Children with disabilities can face even greater barriers to participation and inclusion.
I recognized the need for an innovative approach that could take learning beyond the traditional classroom and reach children through platforms and activities that are accessible, enjoyable, and child-friendly. MY CHILD PROGRAM therefore combines play-based learning, storytelling, songs, games, children's rights education, culture, TV and digital content, and community engagement.
The innovation was created to make education more engaging and inclusive while supporting parents, teachers, caregivers, and communities to contribute to children's holistic development. Our vision is to help build a Malawi where every child can learn, play, smile, feel valued, and have the opportunity to thrive.

In practice, MY CHILD PROGRAM operates as a child-centred education and development platform that takes learning beyond the classroom:
TV and digital content: Children learn through educational programs featuring stories, songs, poems, games, plays, and cultural activities.
Play-based learning: Children develop literacy, communication, creativity, social skills, and confidence through meaningful play.
Children’s rights: Programs teach children about education, protection, health, food, clean water, play, and the right to be heard.
Inclusive education: Activities promote participation of children with and without disabilities.
Community engagement: Parents, teachers, caregivers, schools, and communities are involved in supporting children’s development.
Educational resources: MY CHILD books and learning materials support children, families, teachers, and caregivers.
The goal is to make quality, enjoyable, and inclusive learning accessible to more children, particularly those in underserved communities in Malawi.
MY CHILD PROGRAM has been spreading through a combination of community engagement, partnerships, educational activities, digital platforms, and advocacy for Early Childhood Development and children’s rights. The program has connected with schools, teachers, caregivers, parents, child-focused organizations, and community stakeholders who share our vision for inclusive and accessible learning.
We have also expanded our reach through educational resources such as the MY CHILD Book, which promotes inclusive education and the rights of children with disabilities and Learning Through Play Book.
Our activities and messages are shared through social media, online platforms, community networks, and discussions with potential partners and media organizations.
The program is also building partnerships with government institutions, education and child-focused organizations, schools, and development partners to strengthen its reach and sustainability.
Through these networks, MY CHILD PROGRAM continues to introduce play-based learning, children's rights, inclusion, storytelling, songs, games, and educational content to more children and the adults who support them.
Our long-term goal is to scale the program from community-level engagement to wider national TV and digital distribution, ensuring that children in both rural and urban communities can benefit.
MY CHILD PROGRAM has evolved from an initial child-focused educational concept into a broader platform for Early Childhood Development, inclusive education, and children’s rights. We have expanded the innovation to combine play-based learning with storytelling, songs, poems, games, cultural content, and child-friendly educational activities.
We have also added TV and digital content to reach children beyond the traditional classroom, particularly those in underserved communities. The program has developed educational resources, including the MY CHILD Book, focusing on inclusive education and the rights of children with disabilities.
In addition, we have strengthened the program’s focus on supporting parents, teachers, caregivers, and communities through ECD training, educational materials, and partnerships. These modifications have made MY CHILD PROGRAM more inclusive, accessible, engaging, and scalable, while keeping children at the centre of the innovation.
To try MY CHILD PROGRAM, schools, parents, teachers, caregivers, or community organizations can start by engaging children in our play-based learning activities, including storytelling, songs, poems, games, role-play, and children's rights activities.
A pilot session can be organized with a small group of children using MY CHILD educational materials and content. Participants can then provide feedback on children’s engagement, learning, confidence, inclusion, and overall experience.
The program can also be experienced through our TV and digital educational content as it becomes available. Organizations interested in implementing MY CHILD PROGRAM can partner with us to organize demonstrations, ECD activities, teacher/caregiver training, and community sessions.
The best way to start is with a small pilot, measure the results, learn from children and educators, and then expand to more schools and communities.
