About the innovation

Why did you create this innovation?

Universities and workplaces increasingly value creative problem solving and the ability to apply knowledge in dynamic situations. But the talent and creativity of high school students are locked up in an education system that values rote learning. Students with innovative idea that can change the world do not have experienced mentors in their own communities.

What does your innovation look like in practice?

Our solution is an online, individualized mentorship program where high-potential students from around the world work with expert mentors to pursue innovative
independent projects. Founded by doctoral students at Harvard and Oxford, we started with our comparative advantage, which is helping students do research projects to explore their interests & succeed in pursuing their passion at university.

How has it been spreading?

We have had over 7,200 students from 108 countries do the program so far. They come from public and private schools, do research in everything from genetic engineering to art history, and go on to some of the world's top universities. We'd love for you to join them!

If I want to try it, what should I do?

If you're interested in doing the Lumiere Research Scholar Program, check out the application link on our website here: https://www.lumiere-education.com/ After evaluating your written application, we'll invite you to an interview - and then you'll hear back with your decision!
