Study Right, Right Now

Generic planners are a one size fits all That doesn’t work for students. They need to work around a set structure, allocate time to complete homework, study and memorize for standardized tests, all through distractions that sell your attention. Google Calendar or Notion cannot fix students’ schedule because these platforms don’t know what its like to be a student. We do.

The change is simple: no student should burn out because they didn't have a plan. The most ambitious students are often the most overwhelmed. They're juggling exam prep with extracurriculars, research projects with college applications. They procrastinate not because they're lazy but because the sheer volume of competing priorities paralyzes them. And nobody has built them a tool that actually helps. Education technology has spent years building for teachers, schools, and institutions. The student, the person actually sitting the exam, has been an afterthought. Every major edtech product is either a content library, a classroom management system, or a general productivity tool that happens to have students among its users. None of them start from the student's perspective and work outward. None of them ask: what does this specific student need to do today, given their exact syllabus, their real deadlines, and the gaps in their preparation? The change I want to see is a shift in who edtech is designed for. Students deserve planning infrastructure that is built around how they actually work, not how institutions wish they worked. They deserve a system that knows when they're falling behind before they do, that reschedules intelligently when life gets in the way, and that treats their mental wellbeing as part of the process rather than separate from it. Less burnout, less wasted time, more students performing at the level they're capable of. That's the change. That's Lock In.

About the innovation

Why did you create this innovation?

My parents both come from small towns in India, from places which most people can't identify on a map. After years of hard work, they both managed to get an education and work in larger cities and internationally, and I’ve heard their struggles. That shaped how I see the world: nobody is coming to hand you a playbook, so you build one yourself.
I'm 16 and based in Dubai. I attend a British curriculum school and I'm currently in Year 12 studying A-Level Computer Science, Physics, Mathematics, and Further Mathematics. But the formal education part is the least interesting thing about me.
What actually defines my life right now is that I build things. I run many active projects while maintaining a 4.0 equivalent GPA.
This explains why Lock In exists. I have lived the exact problem I'm trying to solve. Every single day, I have to decide: which of these projects gets my attention? What's the deadline I'm closest to missing? What can I realistically finish before my 2pm meeting? I've tried every productivity tool on the market. Notion is a blank canvas that requires you to build the system before you can use it. Todoist gives you a list with no intelligence behind it. Google Calendar tells you when things are, not what to do about them. None of them answer the one question that actually matters to a student drowning in commitments: what should I work on right now?
So I built the answer myself.

What does your innovation look like in practice?

Lock In is the world's first study planner built exclusively for high school students.
It ships with exam files covering 25+ boards and nearly 1,000 specifications worldwide: GCSE, A-Level, IGCSE, IB, AP, SAT, CBSE, ICSE, JEE, NEET, Australian state curricula, and admissions tests like MAT, STEP, and LNAT. When a student in Dubai taking Edexcel A-Level Economics opens Lock In, their entire curriculum is already structured. Every task links to specific syllabus points. The AI tracks hours per topic, flags neglected subjects, and monitors confidence using a red/yellow/green system. No general-purpose planner has this. Notion doesn't know your syllabus. Todoist doesn't know you haven't touched organic chemistry in two weeks. Lock In does.
Students don't know what to work on next. They underestimate how long things take. They feel overwhelmed by competing deadlines across subjects, extracurriculars, and personal commitments. They procrastinate not because they're lazy but because they lack a clear execution plan. Lock In solves this by doing the planning for them. The AI generates daily plans with automatic prioritization, time-block suggestions, and a clear "next task" recommendation. When things slip, the system reschedules intelligently.
No social features. No gamification. No leaderboards or content libraries. The app answers one question: "What should I do next?" and helps you do it.
I'm the user. I use Lock In every day to manage the exact chaos I described. We've reached

How has it been spreading?

Lock In spreads through two channels: direct-to-student and school partnerships.
On the B2C side, we have a dedicated team member running TikTok and Instagram outreach targeting students directly, currently at 100k+ impressions and actively ramping up. We've also presented to two student groups of 170+ each, converting users through live demos.
On the B2B side, we have a dedicated member focused on international school outreach with a focus in Australia, an ambassador program with its own manager driving expansion to local and international schools, and an ongoing partnership with our first host school.
Lock In has reached 100k+ people across 4 continents and is actively spreading. We currently have 350 users.

If I want to try it, what should I do?

Our product is live at lockinplanner.com.
You register, select your exams and exam boards, and Lock In handles the rest. Specifications, topic hierarchies, and syllabus structure are all set up behind the scenes.
Once in the app, you build a recurring weekly schedule for school and class timings. Add a task and it gets scheduled automatically under the correct subject. The schedule is easy to edit across three calendar views, and there's a built-in wellbeing check for mood and reflection, because stress management is a crucial part of exam prep, not an afterthought.
The AI assistant is native to the app and curriculum-aware by default. It knows your subjects, your syllabus, your deadlines, and your progress. It can generate full study plans scoped to your exact specification content, reschedule your week when things slip, break vague goals into concrete tasks, and handle major schedule changes through natural conversation. This isn't a chatbot bolted onto a calendar. It's the planning engine at the core of the product.

Implementation steps

At an institution level
This will be a guide to implement Lock In at an educational institution.
Contact us at team@lockinplanner.com
Request a setup for your organization. This will include the emails of the students and teachers you have. Once we have these, we set your organization up behind the scenes.
Creating Classes
Once onboarded, you teachers can create classes. Each class generates a unique class code that students can use to join the class.
Adding Assignments
Assignments will automatically sync with all the students in that class. You can edit / delete the assignment, a change that will reflect with student timetables, but they cannot edit the assignment themselves.
We are also working on a Teams API to automatically sync Teams Assignments. This is in early beta.
Wellbeing Checks
Our app provides teachers with a student workload overview based on school-set assignments. This way, teachers can identify which students are under the most pressure from school, and this can influence test scheduling and assignments to ensure students have enough time for each task.
Students can also take wellbeing checks, the results of which are synced to teachers. This may be less effect than the subtle assignment tracking, but still provides valuable insights into students' mental health.
From the Student Side
Here are some instructions from the student's side of things
Onboarding and managing schedules
The onboarding process will allow students to select the exact exams and subjects they are studying, down to the exam board and qualification tier. The app will handle topic hierarchies and specification parsing all behind the scenes.
Once done, students can set up recurring schedules that can be pasted from week to week. This might be school timetables, classes, or scheduled downtime. A level of ease not found elsewhere.
Adding events and managing them
Students can then add tasks and deadlines. Each event can be connected to a subject, subject part, topic, or specification point so the work done is tracked at such detail for the student to assess.
The student can then manage their tasks on three different, feature-rich calendar views: month, week, and day. All of these systems surpass competitors' features and provide native AI integration.
AI Assistant and Study Planner
The native AI Assistant is a student's personal assistant. In the sidebar, its able to help with everyday tasks, schedule or reschedule events, naviagte the page, and much more. The fullscreen AI chat page drastically increases the its functionality, as its now able to generate full study plans and help the user in a multitude of other ways.
Wellbeing and Journalling
Lock In gets stress levels down, and good mental health habits can consolidate that shift.
We offer journalling functionality to reflect and self-improve on the day's activities and as a place to store one's thoughts. There is also a student workload tracker, which lets the student know when he might need to take a moment and relax.
As a whole
Lock In provides powerful value to students, and when integrated into the classroom, can raise student results while taking stress down at its roots.
This is the movement to revolutionize how students plan and structure their time.
