About the innovation

Why did you create this innovation?

According to the United Nations, 60% of primary school children are not learning. The amount of time low-income learners use in school is not enough and low resources hinder learners' growth. More recently, the noble Covid-19 pandemic has further widened the education gap as low-income learners could not afford technological devices to learn online.

What does your innovation look like in practice?

LearnWithMe empowers low-income learners with curated and free offline access to reality-based learning through pre-recorded audio-visual lessons cutting across various subjects, weekly assessments and hands-on experience installed into flash drives (OTG) and Android tablets.

LearnWithMe digitalizes and supports a holistic curriculum and leverage educational technology to make learning handy for all categories of learners (audio, visual and kinesthetic learners) to reach their full potentials.

Quality education for all is dear to our hearts at LearnWithMe. This allows us to create a platform where learners could learn at their pace without the internet and beyond the classroom and even when schools are on holidays. We are passionate about the work that we do in ensuring equity in 21st-century student outcomes.

How has it been spreading?

LearnWithMe has reached 225 direct beneficiaries by working with community members, traditional leaders, teachers, and heads of school, learners, parents, local churches and mosques, friends’ support system to use their spaces as learning centres. Also, their gadgets which include DVD players, television and smartphones are used to view the pre-recorded termly audio-visual lessons cutting across various subjects installed into flash drives (OTG) and Andriod tablets for the children to access the offline audio-visual pre-recorded reality-based lessons. The flash drives (OTG) are distributed across the learning centres; a flash drive per learning centre. A flash drive in a learning centre is monitored to serve up to 20 learners with volunteers across the learning centres.
