We created Kindiedays because introducing play-based learning takes more than giving teachers a new curriculum. Teachers also need practical activities, opportunities to learn and try new methods, and support in understanding each child’s progress.
Kindiedays brings these elements together for preschools serving children aged 2–6. Our starting point is Finnish early childhood education, with room for local languages, curricula and cultural practices.
India was our first focus market for the Learning System. We wanted to help preschools move towards purposeful play without expecting teachers to design every lesson or manage the change on their own.
A teacher chooses a lesson plan suited to the children’s age, interests and learning needs, prepares the materials and adapts the activity for the group. Children learn through play, movement, stories, exploration and working together.
During everyday activities, the teacher records observations, photographs or notes and connects them to learning objectives. These records help the teacher plan what comes next and share the child’s learning with their family.
Kindiedays Academy supports this work through practical workshops, assignments and trainer feedback. Preschool leaders can review planning and documentation across groups and identify where teachers need support.
The lesson plans, training and digital tools are designed to work together. Children aged 2–6 benefit through the experiences their teachers plan and the attention given to their individual development.
Kindiedays provides 480 lesson plans across three completed levels. A fourth level for children aged 2–3 is being introduced in response to customer requests. Some materials are already available; once completed, this level will add 160 lesson plans, bringing the collection to 640.
The Kindiedays Learning System brought together our digital tools, lesson plans and teacher training in 2024. It is currently implemented in India, Vietnam, Jordan, Romania, the USA, the UAE, Bahrain and Namibia.
We work with local partners to introduce the programme, support schools and help teachers apply the approach in their own context. Demonstrations and practical training give educators a chance to experience the activities before using them with children.
Recent onsite workshops in Vietnam have generated interest in further staff training and the Learning System. This video gives a glimpse of the practical teacher training: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XtvKD7W_8QE.
Lesson plans and Academy workshops are available in English. Local partners help bridge language and cultural differences where needed.
Kindiedays developed from digital tools for documenting and sharing children’s learning into a Learning System that also includes lesson plans and professional development.
In response to customer requests, we are adding dedicated lesson plans for children aged 2–3. Some materials are already available, with further resources in development.
We are also incorporating textbooks and workbooks through our partnership with Saar Education. Books remain important to many schools and families, particularly for academic learning. The aim is to help schools use them alongside purposeful play and hands-on activities.
We continue to develop the resources and support with input from teachers, preschool leaders and local partners.
