Bangladesh is one of the world's most climate-vulnerable nations yet environmental education remains stuck at awareness. Young people face eco-anxiety without tools to act. The planetary crisis is ultimately a leadership crisis — I created the GLiA Framework was created to cultivate a new generation of green leaders who act with courage, creativity, and care.
The GLiA Framework is an educational architecture applied across multiple programs. At the Individual level, learners build green skills through the energizED online course (60+ completions), covering climate science, renewable energy, and green career pathways. At the Organizational level, participants engage in professional trainings like the 2-day Renewable Energy Training (46 university students, 6 expert trainers) and the Renewable Energy Forum 2025 (150+ students, 12 industry speakers). At the Ecosystem level, programs like Unplastic Bangladesh (144 campaigns, 31,000+ people inspired) and Climate Case sessions in communities like Bandarban engage youth in collaborative, locally-led problem solving. The Green Leadership Manifesto — the framework's foundational document — was officially launched at the National Museum of Technology, Sweden, during Impact Pioneers'25 by the Swedish Institute, and has been shared across Europe including Finland and France. The Green Leadership Decision Compass is a proprietary reflective tool that guides learners to evaluate decisions across People, Planet, and Prosperity dimensions.
Over the past five years, Green Lead has scaled, cumulatively reaching 300,000+ people across all programs. RE-energize Bangladesh — a one-stop national renewable energy hub — reached 100,000+ individuals through digital platforms and partnerships with BSREA and IET-CUET. The Unplastic Bangladesh campaign grew from 57 campaigns (2023) to 87 campaigns (2024), with 1,000+ directly participating and 20,000+ inspired. A major milestone: the Green Leadership Manifesto was officially launched at the National Museum of Technology, Sweden, during Impact Pioneers'25 by the Swedish Institute — a celebration of global sustainability leadership — and has since been shared across Europe including Finland and France. Goals for 2026-2028 include expanding the GLiA Framework into formal school curricula, training educators, and partnering with universities across South and Southeast Asia.
