Graduate Aims Database

Innovation Overview
How might we design learning environments to cultivate specific learner outcomes?
Whether you are designing a completely new learning model or updating your approach as part of ongoing efforts to learn and improve, identifying the outcomes that learners will achieve, deliberately designing toward those outcomes, and assessing your progress along the way are critical steps.
We created the Graduate Aims Database to help!
The Graduate Aims Database is a growing collection of summaries focused on research-based learning outcomes that our partners often take influence from when constructing their own graduate aims. Each summary includes information to help define and measure the outcome, insights into how the outcome develops, and potential design implications.

The Graduate Aims Database is a growing collection of summaries focused on research-based learning outcomes that our school partners often take influence from when constructing their own graduate aims. Each summary includes information to help define and measure the outcome, insights into how the outcome develops, potential design implications, and debates or nuances related to the outcome that often have critical equity, inclusion, and justice implications.
ImpactOur organization’s mission is to enable visionary learning communities to build and spread breakthrough models that prepare children to thrive in and transform the 21st century.
We do this in three ways:
1.) We build and spread innovative models in partnership with visionary school communities.
2.) We build and deploy a diverse force of R&D talent, called the Yellow Hats League, to develop, codify and spread these new learning models.
3.) We build and share actionable knowledge to inform the innovation process with evidence-based insights
Transcend’s Graduate Aims Database is free and available online for design teams to use now. Local communities apply the database in ways that make the most sense to them and they can collaborate to integrate this research into their own context.
