We created FEHN to promote a person-centered education integrated with nature, addressing the issues of human confinement in classrooms, destruction of nature by human being, lack of nature knowledge and its importance in education, and recognition of different learning styles.
Our innovation is inspired by educational philosophies such as Reggio Emilia, Project Zero, and Green Schools. We also follow programs certified by the Forest School Association and incorporate UNESCO's recommended skills for the 21st century: learning to be, learning to know, learning to do, and learning to live together. Our holistic approach to education involves using nature as a tool for teaching and learning, incorporating a diverse range of teaching methods and personalized learning strategies. We have evidence of its effectiveness through positive feedback from our students and teachers, as well as their improved academic performance and overall well-being.
In the last 1-2 years, our achievements include establishing our school from preschool to second grade and providing professional development for over 50 teachers through a holistic education program. We also created learning communities to promote positive education, reading engagement, and the importance of nature in education. Our goal for the next 2-3 years is to expand our school and team, reach a wider audience, and offer our education program in other countries such as Mexico, Peru, and Spain. We also aim to secure funding to implement one of the winning designs from our architecture competition. We aspire to raise awareness and change the educational paradigm globally, starting with latinamerica.
