The project outcomes are twofold. Firstly, we aim to align teachers' preferred methodologies with learners' agency, creating a quick and inclusive learning experience. This ensures that teaching approaches cater to diverse learner needs. Secondly, the project emphasizes evidence-based actions fostering informed decision-making among teachers, caregivers, and administrators.

About the innovation

Why did you create this innovation?

My personal experience with education was challenging, leading to my decision to drop out. My current efforts are dedicated to addressing the pain students feel when schools fail to understand individual learning styles – a deeply resonant issue for me.

What does your innovation look like in practice?

Simple homepage directing users towards the three main areas requiring feedback from education stakeholders: Lesson Plan, Behavior, and Development. The users, including teachers, students, and caregivers, engage in timely communication about these three main areas.

For the Lesson Plan: The integration of scheme of work contents allows teachers to access necessary details via a mobile app for quick lesson plan preparation and screening student feedback, enhancing the learning experience.

Regarding Behavior: By providing a set of common terminologies for teachers' observations about learner involvement, teachers can easily locate matching terms within the form, streamlining the process.

Regarding Development: Learner Agency and evidence-based communication are consistently available to caregivers and schools.

How has it been spreading?

The concept has been demonstrated and approved by the Rwanda Basic Education Board and the Rwanda TVET Board. Two hundred thirty teachers across five schools have tested and approved the process for data collection and communication.

If I want to try it, what should I do?

You can download the prototype to your mobile or web devices and test how the features flow. The system automatically sends a link to the users. No need to record a database for playing with features.

Implementation steps

Concept development
From 2017 to 2023, the implementation focus shifted towards identifying the necessary data to monitor and evaluate attendance, behavioral assessment, and lesson planning. As part of this process, Ejo Network involved 230 teachers to test the user flow. This involvement led to Ejo Network receiving concept approval from the Ministry of Education in Rwanda.
