I started making educational boardgames during my internship and kept doing it for my own classes. Then I shared my games for free as print and play games. When one of them got downloaded over 5000 times in 6 months time I decided to make it easier for teachers all around and had them printed. Afterwards we kept going and published more games.
Many children grow tired of practicing the same thing over and over again. They get tired of school and the curriculum. Because games trigger emotions (scientifcally proven) we tend to retain those moments better. Combining maths or language in that context opens up the brain to more information. Besides that the games provide a more motivational context for the children to learn.
The games are based on the problems that are most frequent in K12 and give the most frustrations to teachers and children. The games are analogue because not every classroom is fitted with digital systems for each child. This way there is but a small step for schools to invest and to make sure each child can use the games.
Level21 got recognised in the Wintrade awards by winning in the innovations category. Starting in Belgium we are selling the games in the Netherlands and in Germany as well. The printing tests for Englis are being made as we speak. We would love to grow further and in many different languages.
