We believe that curiosity is at the heart of all learning. It is a superpower that every child needs in this complex & ever-changing world. QShala incepts the curiosity learning gene in children.

About the innovation

Why did you create this innovation?

In the 21st-century, all information is freely available and readily accessible. Yet, it seems the more we know, the less we think about the 'how' and 'why' of it. Kids have an innate curiosity that is slowly lost as they fall into habits of rote learning and use exam performance as an indicator of progress. At QShala, we aim to change that and strive to keep the spirit of lifelong learning alive.

What does your innovation look like in practice?

Initially conceived as a classroom-based learning module, the program progressed to more than that. We offer a myriad of online programs for children from 5-15 years of age. We’ve curated a QShala Curiosity Curriculum that combines necessary elements for children to succeed in the future. Our offerings are as follows:
1. Live courses with curiosity-based experiences.
2. Quizzes/Questions/Storytelling offered daily and weekly.
3. Regular competitions through QShala Unconference.
4. Regular opportunities for public speaking and quizmaster presentation through QShala Adda.
5. Individual and collaborative skill-based projects.
6. Curated learning material in the form of videos, study material, and habit trackers.
7. QShala Curiosity Conversations to further nurture the art of inquisitive learning.
8. Child-centered mentorship to nurture skills and habits.
9. Interest-Based Peer Clubs - Reading/Public Speaking/Quizzing.
10. Interactive curious communities through weekly Family Quizzes.

How has it been spreading?

QShala started its curiosity journey in schools in Bangalore, India at first and then in five cities across India. 3+ years later, an experiment with online workshops lead to an online model and during the 2020 pandemic, QShala went completely online as is the current status.

At present, QShala works with 50+ schools, spread across Indian cities, and has a presence in 5 countries.

QShala has worked with over 500+ teachers, with 150+ active members of the Online Teacher Forum. The teacher participants have joined us from 40+ schools across 15+ cities across India.
