I did my PhD in teacher education, and I found out that in-service training programs are mainly planned according to pedagogy, however it should be planned in light of andragogy. Teachers also have individual learning differences, and they need to have the freedom to access training programs whenever and wherever they want, and the content of the trainishould be designed specifically for teachers.
Teachers can receive training wherever and whenever they want. Teachers can get support from our e-mentors while transferring what they have learned to their teaching practices. They can exchange ideas in the professional learning communities, and access the differentiated resources offered by TeacherX by evaluating themselves through our structured self-assessment system. We are using an LMS which also includes an admin account so the directors can see if teachers attend the training, and monitor their progress. Directors or school principals can also follow what kind of materials teachers have created after they watched the videos.
We are currently working with 42 institutions with more than 6000 teachers. With TeacherX, we support institutions at the point of other needs of the school while planning teacher training programme. We hope to change our model to B2C and let any teachers or teacher candidates access the training videos. We use social media, and we organize campaigns to access teachers who need training to create a social impact. We also had a deal with an important bank in Turkey and we will offer free training to 100 teachers working at state schools. Recently, we have announced that we will offer free training to 30 senior students studying at the faculty of education. Finally, we also organize the biggest edtech event (EdTech Summit, ETZ) in Turkey so we promote TeacherX at the event: www.etz.com.tr
