Emerging Science Victoria (ESV)

An opportunity for Year 9 and 10 students to engage in specialised STEM based studies and careers via a virtual classroom.

Facilitated by John Monash Science School, ESV is a virtual interactive classroom providing a unique opportunity for Year 9 and 10 students to collaborate and study contemporary STEM subjects, regardless of their geographical location. ESV classes are co-constructed with Monash University academics, in Astrophysics, Nanotechnology, Neuroscience and Biotechnology.

About the innovation

Inspiring STEM futures in a virtual world!

Broadcast from a purpose-built studio at Victoria's only specialist science and mathematics school, John Monash Science School, ESV makes it possible for Year 9 and Year 10 students in Victoria to access specialised STEM subjects through a virtual classroom.

Specialised subjects on offer via ESV have been constructed by John Monash Science School teaching staff and leading academics at Monash University to develop the most contemporary, and relevant subject teaching for secondary school students in the fields of; Nanotechnology, Astrophysics, Biotechnology, Neuroscience and Nature and Beauty of Mathematics.

The learning of the future is here, now!

To participate, students require their own laptop, an internet connection and a headset with microphone. Students can log in to virtual classrooms and join students from across the state, working collaboratively online with a broad range of students. This is the learning of the future. This is real science collaboration and it is available now.
