About the innovation

Why did you create this innovation?

The ongoing pandemic has caused a shift in the academic landscape as schools and learning institutions shut down to help curb the virus. We believe that every Filipino child has the right to quality education. Driven by this advocacy, our CereKit team from the CereCare Foundation developed this specialized modular learning kit to provide quality learning opportunities for all children.

What does your innovation look like in practice?

Our primary purpose is to design and develop modular learning kits that are age-appropriate which contain home-based learning activities that are easy to implement by parents and guardians. The kit contains a module with a step-by-step guide on how to implement home learning, with targets aligned with the Philippine Curriculum. Together with the module are the materials needed for the lessons, making the teaching-learning process accessible for the parents and the children at home.

Parents will purchase the kits, which are segregated into varying levels of difficulty. The module highlights schedules, activities and mannerisms that children are expected to learn, in the safety and comfort of their home.

How has it been spreading?

We have started implementing the program since the last half of 2020, right after the program's conception. So far, client profile includes children under child-caring agencies/orphanages. Client feedback mentions the programs effectiveness in addressing developmental needs, personal growth, and discipline.

So far, the program gaining traction in the said agencies, but other clients have expressed interest in the program as well.
