We created Mi Voz because we believe that every young person deserves the opportunity to discover their potential and be heard, regardless of their socioeconomic background.
While schools play a fundamental role in academic learning, many young people—particularly those attending public and subsidized schools in vulnerable communities—graduate without developing essential skills such as self-awareness, communication, critical thinking, and confidence. At the same time, public speaking and debate have traditionally been accessible only to students in elite educational settings, despite being among the most valuable competencies for employment, leadership, and active citizenship.
Mi Voz was created to bridge this opportunity gap. Rather than focusing only on teaching public speaking, we designed a transformative experience that combines one-on-one mentoring, storytelling, and oratory to help young people reflect on who they are, identify what matters to them, and confidently share their stories with others.
Our purpose is not simply to create better speakers, but to empower young people to become protagonists of their own lives. When a young person realizes that their story matters and that their voice deserves to be heard, they gain the confidence, agency, and sense of purpose needed to shape their future and contribute positively to their communities.
Mi Voz is a four-month hybrid program that combines personalized mentoring, interactive workshops, and a public speaking showcase to help young people discover and amplify their voice.
Each participant is matched with a trained volunteer mentor through a compatibility process based on personality traits and shared interests. Mentor-mentee pairs meet weekly in one-on-one sessions that foster trust, self-reflection, and personal growth. Alongside mentoring, students participate in a structured series of workshops covering identity, storytelling, public speaking, and communication skills. The journey culminates in a live event where every participant delivers an inspiring talk before their school community, families, and peers.
Since its launch in 2021, Mi Voz has grown steadily. What began as a local initiative has expanded across multiple provinces in Argentina, reaching students in public and subsidized schools in vulnerable communities. In 2025, the program operated simultaneously in Buenos Aires and Catamarca. In 2026, it expanded to Chaco, doubling the number of participating students and increasing its network of educational institutions and volunteer mentors.
The program's hybrid model, volunteer-based mentoring, and standardized methodology make it highly scalable while preserving the personalized support that drives its impact.
Mi Voz has evolved continuously by learning from each cohort and adapting to participants' needs. Initially conceived as a public speaking initiative, it has grown into a comprehensive personal development program centered on self-awareness, mentoring, and essential 21st-century skills.
Over time, we incorporated a structured one-on-one mentoring model, redesigned the workshop sequence to guide participants from self-discovery to storytelling, and introduced compatibility matching between mentors and students to strengthen relationships. We also developed impact measurement tools, including pre- and post-program assessments, allowing us to evaluate growth in communication, self-confidence, storytelling, and life planning.
As the program expanded geographically, we adopted a hybrid delivery model that combines virtual mentoring with in-person workshops and final events. This approach has enabled us to reach students in different provinces while maintaining a consistent experience and high-quality support.
Each edition serves as a learning opportunity. Feedback from students, mentors, educators, and partner schools is systematically incorporated into the following cycle, ensuring that Mi Voz remains relevant, adaptable, and responsive to the realities of the young people it serves.
Mi Voz was intentionally designed to be adaptable and replicable. Any school, nonprofit organization, or youth-serving institution interested in strengthening young people's communication, confidence, and leadership skills can implement the model with the right preparation.
The program requires three key elements: committed educational partners, trained volunteer mentors, and a structured curriculum that combines mentoring, workshops, and a final public speaking event. Because mentoring takes place online, volunteers can participate from anywhere, making it possible to connect professionals with students across different regions.
Organizations wishing to adopt the model should begin by identifying a partner school, recruiting and training mentors, and following the program methodology. Throughout the process, continuous monitoring and impact evaluation ensure quality and allow for local adaptations without losing the core principles of the program.
Our vision is to continue sharing and refining this methodology so that many more young people, regardless of where they live or the opportunities available to them, can discover that their voice matters and use it to shape their future.
