YoMobi

Mobilising Youth for a Better Tomorrow

Yomobi is a platform cooperative that empowers youth organizations to address the challenges of unemployment and skill development. Designed as a multi-tenant solution, Yomobi offers organisations a comprehensive suite of tools that foster skill enhancement, access to opportunities, community engagement, and personal growth. With the integration of micro-learning, moderated chats, digital tasks, and the learning opportunity directory, we aim to better equip organizations to enhance learning outcomes, facilitate seamless engagement with youth for concept reinforcement, enable practical application of new skills, and facilitate connections to further learning opportunities.

About the innovation

Why did you create this innovation?

YoMobi was developed to address the digital divide manifested at the organizational level, where many organisations lack the awareness, skills, and resources to access suitable technologies for supporting youth development work. Secondary reasons include enabling digital and remote engagement with youth, providing more scalable interventions and driving greater integration across the sector.

What does your innovation look like in practice?

The platform provides organisations with digital tools to enhance, extend and scale their youth programmes. Through YoMobi they can manage their own digital micro-learning, events, tasks, opportunities, chat engagements and community service. Organisations manage their own instance using a web console and their youth access the instance through a mobile application. Youth can access multiple organisation instances through the same application.

How has it been spreading?

As a B2B tool we have seen rapid uptake with over 150 organisations registering their own instance. Their usage of the platform and integration into programmes has not been as rapid. We currently have 14008 registered users on the platform. We would like to see 1000 - 5000 youth users per organisational instance with 500+ organisations using the tool suite.

If I want to try it, what should I do?

As an organisation you can register to setup your own instance using this link - https://cms.yomobi.org/register/organisation
As a young person you can download the app on the play, apple or huawei stores by searching for YoMobi. Once registered you can access the All Youth Instance that is included in the list of organisations and use the access code 12345.

Implementation steps

Organisation Registration
Organisations must complete the registration form and provide all relevant information about the organisation. Once the submission has been verified by the operations team the organisation instance will be activated. The organisation can then log in and begin setting up their instance. The support team will be in touch to provide direct guidance on navigating and using the platform.
Content Creation
Once the organisation has been approved and their instance activated, they will be able to create their own content on the platform. This includes:
Micro-learning Courses,
Events
Moderated Chat Sessions
Learning and Earning Opportunities
Digital tasks
The organisation will also need to specify their access code in the admin settings - this code allows youth to access their instance.
Youth Registration
Once the organisation has completed their content development they will need to initiate a call to action for their youth participants to register and join the organisation instance. Youth will need to register on the YoMobi mobile app (downloadable on Google, Apple or Huawei). Once they have completed their registration they will need to find the organisation they are affiliated with and enter the organisation access code.
Engage, Learn, Enjoy
Youth will now be able to engage with the content published by the organisation and access opportunities and services published in the global directories. They will be able to search by tag or category or by proximity.
