We saw the need to close the knowledge and skills gap among Nigerian teachers at all levels. We provide free in-service Continuous Professional Development to help teachers acquire 21st-century skills and pedagogical approaches they need to deliver transformative education in Nigerian classrooms. Our objective is to ensure learners have access to the skills they need to thrive now and beyond.
To ensure we make an impact at the grassroots level, we travel across states/regions in Nigeria to train teachers on EdTech tools and innovative pedagogical approaches they can adopt in the classroom. 1.Keynote Session provides examples and applications of the latest approaches/tools in the education space and a call to action to leverage in Nigeria classrooms. 2.Panel Session helps panellists and the audience discuss how to leverage tools and pedagogical approaches discussed for effective teaching and learning in Nigerian classrooms. 3.Hands-On Breakout Session gives attendees real-time experience and exposure on how to effectively leverage what they've learnt in their classrooms. 4.Play Time/Networking gives hands-on experience of gaming platforms/activities they can use to engage learners for quality outcomes and also network with other teachers. Attendees get a free certificate for participation and free vouchers to take certification courses online courtesy of our partner(s).
In the last 3 years, we have reached more than 1k teachers across 6 geopolitical zones in Nigeria with a ripple effect on more than 2k learners at all levels of Nigeria education system. We have helped Nigeria teachers and learners acquire skills in the following areas: Learning Management System (LMS), Google expeditions (Virtual/augmented-reality for science and other subjects), Google Earth (Geography and climate change education), Computer Science and Online Safety, Project-Based Learning, Flipped Classroom, Gamification etc. We've got incredible and amazing feedback from attendees on how Teachers' Conference NG has helped them become 21st-century teachers, engage learners and empower them with relevant skills. Our goal is to reach 3k teachers and 5k students in the next 2 - 3 years.
