We found that K3 to K9 students have difficulty in learning program in some stage. Between blockly visual programming and advanced coding course, it exists a barrier with syntax in computer programming and the compiler issue. So far, we want to fill the gap with our software on the learning map.
To deal with the need, we designed a software, named “Tarkus VP”, for students to make them more easier to learn the programming logic via flow-based visual programming interface. Tarkus VP could deal with more complicated scenarios, like obstacle avoidance, self-propelled car, etc. Besides the software, we provides an educational total solution, including hardware, educational case, lesson plan, textbook, video, and handouts for teacher as well.
At first, the whole package was adopted by primary schools in Hong Kong. Local educators said that it really works for students to inspire their interests of learning programming, and for teachers to help them enhance the diversity of CS class; what’s more, the debugging time could be substantially shortened under this software, which means that teachers could find it more easier to pass knowledge and information onto their students.
In 2017-2020, the product and curriculums have been implemented into schools and channels in HK and TW, and we already have partners in U.S., Japan, South East Asia. In December 2020, we got a silver medal award in Taiwan Innotech Expo with our patent of Tarkus VP.
In 2021, we release video stream online courses to cope with the epidemic situation, so that students can study from home; for the next few months, we will release more synchronous and asynchronous courses to our website and Facebook.
For the next 2-3 years, we will focus on overseas market, especially in the former region, and connect more worldwide educational institutes; therefore, English curriculum package and software have been already developed and launched.
