About the innovation

Why did you create this innovation?

To nurture global collaboration, DPS Varanasi, Nashik, and Lava Nagpur, India, have launched a transformative project that fosters cultural understanding, sharpens communication skills, and deepens global awareness. Through rich, hands-on experiences, we empower our young learners with opportunities that inspire them to ACT LOCALLY and THINK GLOBALLY!

What does your innovation look like in practice?

Our learners identify and empathize with real issues affecting their locality. There is clear evidence that their ideas are making a tangible difference in their communities. By leveraging technology—using Google Forms and social media—they raise awareness and share the positive impact their actions have on people around them.

How has it been spreading?

Over 8 transformative cohorts, students from 23+ schools in 14+ countries have actively engaged in the SDGs2SaveTheWorld project, empowering them to become global SDG Champions. This initiative has cultivated critical skills such as creative problem-solving, collaboration, research, and cross-cultural empathy. By embracing the Possibility Framework—Positive Start, Think and Link, Idea Storm, Take Action, Reflection, and Celebrate Learning—students have tackled pressing local issues, driven impactful change, and shared their successes and challenges globally. As we look ahead to the next 2-3 years, our vision is to amplify SDG advocacy on international platforms, fostering a generation of youth who are not just participants but leaders of sustainable, world-changing solutions.

How have you modified or added to your innovation?

In my innovation, SDGs2SaveTheWorld, I have updated the project to reflect the successful completion of 8 cohorts, with 23+ schools from over 14 countries actively participating. This expansion underscores the global impact of the initiative. Additionally, I have highlighted the development of essential skills in students, such as critical thinking, collaboration, and cultural empathy, showcasing how their efforts are creating meaningful change locally while fostering a global mindset. We have also been fortunate to be inspired by exceptional mentors, including Jack Davis from the World’s Largest Lesson Plans, Lucia and Sofia from the Global School Program, Mr. Samarth Pathak from UNODC, and Toni Cammilleri and John Rolfe from GSA, among many others. Their guidance has been instrumental in shaping our journey, fueling our passion, and driving our commitment to creating lasting, impactful change. ACT GLOBAL SUMMIT piloted in 2024 is a celebration of our global partners of Cohorts of SDGs2SaveTheWorld .This is it is being held at DPS Varanasi.
SDGs2SaveTheWorld is partnered with Earthday.org, Climate Action schools-TAG , Equanimaty learning , United Nations office of Drugs and Crimes, Eco roots foundations and Mission Mumbai.
