Scholé emerged from a desire to reinvent the school: a space where learning is natural, human and happy. In a changing world, it proposes a model of integral and inclusive education, where the focus is not on teaching, but on meaningful learning.
Scholé is organised around transversal learning projects lasting between 5 and 8 weeks, based on design thinking principles, experiential theory and the project-based pedagogy applied at Kaospilot, a Danish business school renowned worldwide for its high social impact. Students start the process with real issues, explore their curricular and extracurricular knowledge and develop impactful solutions. Each project is supported by ‘Learning Arcs’, which articulate content, competences, attitudes and values. Assessment is continuous, participatory, authentic and multidimensional. The school's physical and social spaces are carefully designed to foster collaboration, curiosity and well-being. Learning is expanded to the local and international community through collaborations with cultural, scientific and social institutions and companies from different sectors.
Over the last years, Scholé has consolidated its pedagogical proposal, achieving significant results in terms of well-being, student involvement and the children's learning process. Strategic partnerships have been created and various research and development projects have been promoted in collaboration with European organisations. The institution was honoured as an Ashoka Changemaker School.
In the near future, there are plans to expand the school in terms of the number of students and levels of education. There are also plans to set up a teacher development academy, at national and international level, to promote the recognition and appreciation of the role of the teacher, share learning methodologies, train educational advisors and produce open teaching materials, expanding innovat
The implementation of Scholé's pedagogical model requires the adoption of fundamental principles such as experiential learning, the design of learning arches and the valorisation of children's agency. The initial training of the educational team, co-creation with the community and adaptation of the physical space are fundamental, with the priority being to identify low-investment solutions.
