Ripyl® was created as an innovative response to fill the educational gaps observed by our Founder, who saw a need for more practical problem-solving and creativity in his daughters' schooling. Using commerce, business studies and accounting, Ripyl® integrates real-world challenges into modules for teaching commerce, aiming to revitalise the curriculum with active, hands-on learning.
Ripyl® originally started as a face-to-face programme to help students aged 5-13 develop entrepreneurial skills. The programme focused on business, commerce, accounting, finance and economics modules. During the pilot phase, it became clear that social sciences teachers needed access to these modules to upskill their students and provide much-needed business education. As a result, Ripyl® pivoted to a SaaS product and is now available online as a community that offers ready-to-use, real-world modules aligned with business, commerce, accounting, and economics curriculums. Teachers can easily search for a theme or module number that aligns with their curriculum, and they will be presented with relevant modules, saving them time and effort in planning. This innovative platform is revolutionising the way business studies are taught and helping students learn relevant business concepts.
Ripyl® has grown from a regional programme in New Zealand into a global platform that is now used in 11 countries. This growth has been organic, driven mainly by teacher networks, word-of-mouth, and our strong community focus (and maketing plan). After winning the national award for Best Youth Programme in 2023, Ripyl® gained traction across Australasia, and we’ve since presented to the Canadian Ministry of Education, been named one of the Top 50 EdTechs in Australasia and will soon showcase at national education events in Australia and the US.
The key to Ripyl’s spread has been its relevance and simplicity. Teachers get instant access to real-world, curriculum-aligned business content that saves them time and engages their students. Our in-platform teacher community also allows educators to connect across borders, making Ripyl® not just a resource hub but a global ecosystem of support for commerce education.
While originally designed as an in-school, face-to-face programme, Ripyl® evolved in response to a clear need: business teachers lacked a dedicated platform with relevant, modern resources. During early delivery, we found that teachers, particularly in social sciences, were expected to teach business and finance with little support or subject training.
In response, we transformed Ripyl® into a full SaaS platform and built RipylGPT, a secure, education-specific AI assistant that helps both teachers and students. We’ve also added global curriculum alignment (NZ, AUS, US, UK) and a “Connect & Discuss” feature to foster international teacher collaboration. Ripyl® continues to adapt through teacher feedback, ensuring we’re building a solution that meets the real needs of the classroom.
The Ripyl® platform is now live and available globally. To get started, visit www.ripyl.net or download the Ripyl® app from the App Store or Google Play Store.
We offer a free Starter Pack, allowing teachers to explore modules, lesson plans, and resources aligned to their curriculum. For those wanting deeper access and support, a subscription unlocks our full library, RipylGPT AI assistant, and global teacher community.
