Post COVID Classroom Management Toolkit & Program

Join me in creating the magic in a post-COVID classroom that you always wanted to

I am a psychologist, who realized that psychological problems are hard to imagine, quantify and solve as they are invisible. (If your arm is fractured, the x-ray shows how deep the damage is, and the doctor will know how to proceed.) This isn’t the case of mental health damage, or emotional outburst. I created a symbol-based toolkit, which makes the emotions visible, tangible and easy to handle.

Transform the mindset of educators by helping them understand that since 2020 psychology sits there in the classroom, together with them and the kids, yet using the right tools, introducing the right routines and maintaining them would end up them having the most successful, and most humble times of their lives. A little bit of mindset change would cause magic in the classroom which in many cases.

About the innovation

Why did you create this innovation?

The COVID lockdown has caused a lot of mental health issues, which are getting worse since the war, and the global economic crisis. Adults are out of their comfort zone, children as well. The school environment has changed dramatically. Educators report more and more “aggression” or “anger outburst”, constant disruptions yet are not trained enough to handle them. They need immediate solution.

What does your innovation look like in practice?

The increasing disruption is partially caused by the collapse of the systems around us. School is a system too. Therefore re-creating the classroom environment to become resistant to post-COVID negative effects, gives educators a possibility to calm down the kids, and creates a co-operative, inclusive environment, where kids start to support each other, and co-operate.
The only thing educators need to do is introduce some new routines, and some of the tools of the Human Nature Toolkit. In order to make the transition in the classroom as quick and as efficient as possible, I only recommend the use of 3 tools and the routines linked to them. This Program is part of the S-Cool Days Package, but only focuses on the Post-Covid Classroom Management.
It uses proporietary curriculum, and the methods developed by me, technology is only needed for the educators to come to the workshops and learn how to introduce the method at their institutions.

How has it been spreading?

2018 – Introduction of the methodology in Hungary in a public and in a Private School (Budapest School owned by the co-founder of Prezi)
2018- Introduction of the methodology in Spain, in the American School of Las Palmas
2018 – Research added to the S-Cool Days Program in the above-mentioned 3 school-types
2019 – MIT Linc International Conference, Boston – got selected as a speaker, and shared the research results
2020 – Learning and the Brain Conference San Francisco
2021- Online conference in Cyprus - EU, workshop holder
2021 – “Best School Year Start” of your life – Social responsibility project –
trained 1600 educators all over Hungary
2021 – Porto, Tempus Tool Fair
2022 – 600+ children in Summer Camps – 96+% satisfaction rate
2023 – Victim Support System- 14 centers all over Hungary

If I want to try it, what should I do?

They should contact – Ildiko Gyori – ildiko.gyori@humanmenu.hu, +3670 774 5868
The steps would be:
They should contact me by mail. Than we set up a Zoom meeting, where we would introduce ourselves and clarify their need: what exactly the challenge is regarding mental health or the socio-emotional learning in the classroom? What age range do they work with ? etc. I'll come back with a project plan

Implementation steps

Contact and problem identification
Find at least 2-4 educators in your school who are interested in and committed to change the post-COVID classroom environment into a “calm nest” of kids, happy and ready to care about each other.
Prepare a list with the exact post-COVID problems and challenges you are willing to resolve. Prepare a list with the exact expectations, results you would like to have in mind after the cooperation.
Join the zoom meeting, and let’s find out the psychological causes of the problems
Get Known & Create the Tools
Discuss the possible solutions, get to know the tools and routines that would help you to solve the challenges.
Filed work - introduce the tools in your classroom
Commit to introduce the tools and the routines as discussed.
Q & A session
Participate on a follow-up online meeting, share what worked, where do you have questions. Agree on how to proceed next time you go back to the classroom.
Project Closing
Closing of cooperation on this subject, further steps.
