A school is a place where we discover the importance of space.
Using modern experiential learning methods we support the development of critical and creative thinking and offer high-quality and interesting methods for understanding space, architecture, and design in both formal and non-formal education environments.
The projects are adapted to various age groups and special needs children.
Technical Days and Cultural Days are workshops that Centre for Architecture Slovenia, under its Playful Architecture programme, holds as part of primary-school education; they are intended for first to ninth grade students and take place at a school, in its surroundings, or in the students’ hometown all over Slovenia.
The students are first introduced to the topic that they will be learning about. This is followed by an introductory lecture, a discussion, and a workshop involving practical and experiential work. Each workshop takes one period.
We also hold thematic educational architectural walks in home town or its surroundings.
At the weekend workshops, which take place throughout Slovenia, young architects – in a relaxed in playful way – discover and build new worlds with children. This kind of workshops are aimed at children from 5 to 12 years old and are free of charge.
In the last 10 years of the program we have visited more than 250 grammar schools, 50 kindergartens and designed more than 1000 playful workshops. Our teams of menthors has grown from 5 to 40.
