I defended that every child has the right to an equal and accessible education at international standards and I work to give this right to every child. For this purpose, I focused on the restructuring of education and a model that will meet the needs of the age we live in and teach 21st century competencies.I work for a sustainable and accessible education.

About the innovation

Why did you create this innovation?

When we started living in Dubai in 2010, what I observed in my daughter and the children around me was that the common problem of families living abroad was that the children could not express themselves in their mother tongue or there was no necessary environment for them to learn this. By using the educational aspect of the games, I made a system for children to learn by doing and living.

What does your innovation look like in practice?

My biggest achievement is OYDO (a unique teaching model of mine) which is a game and project based language acquisition model that incorporates cultural elements of the target languages so students can understand the language by relating its cultures.

How has it been spreading?

OYDO has been running for 12 years in Dubai , reaching over 300 students. Its main aim is to teach language through cultural integration ( Arabic with Arab characters, Turkish with Turkish characters, English with English characters based on that culture's unique features) and aiming to give 21st century competencies. One of the main strengths of OYDO is to give structured and continuous feedback to parents and teachers throughout the language learning journey of each child according to OYDO’s assessment system.OYDO has now successfully commenced in-class operations in the international schools in UAE in Gems World Academy, Fairgreen International School and Dubai International Academy (contract stage) with a Learning Facility in the MOE.

Implementation steps

Pre-test
With the pre-test, the level of the student is measured. The student, whose first level is determined, starts education with the introduction unit, which is the first unit of the 12-unit playbook, with the start of the education calendar.
