About the innovation

Why did you create this innovation?

To increase the opportunities for social inclusion and success of limited-resourced and high-achieving young women and men through a holistic education that coaches and guides them through high school, higher education, and their first job.

What does your innovation look like in practice?

The Oportunidades program has developed a unique philosophy that combines career counseling with a set of values known as "CRIARSE," civic education, and employability certification — a formula that continues to encourage young people to pursue their dreams, believe in themselves, find their purpose in life, and thus contribute to a better future for El Salvador.

How has it been spreading?

The Oportunidades program is funded by the Gloria Kriete Foundation, and on two occasions, we have received funding from other institutions.

If I want to try it, what should I do?

We have never transfered the methodology but we have had scenarios where we have presented the program to possible donors or other implementing partners.
