Why did you create this innovation?

According to the International labour organization (ILO) in Tanzania 72% of all male graduates in a year have a high chance of being employed while only 47% of female ones are. Besides the lower employment rates, women are also disadvantaged in the types of positions they engage in. What does your innovation look like in practice?

Online GFI Career Hub (www.msichanakwanza.org)- Through our Career Hub, we give girls and young women access to training, resources, opportunities, mentorship and coaching they need to be competent and competitive in the job market. We have been able to direct coach 143 girls across four regions in Tanzania and give access to more than 1,000 youth access to the platform.

How has it been spreading?

In the next five years, Our online career hub and mobile app incubator will be serving girls in three countries that are Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda. our ICT &ENTERPRENUERSHIP CENTER FOR GIRLS (IECG) will be a leading centre that provides mentorship for girls in Tanzania. To achieve that GFI will partners with different stakeholders including civil society, governments and other development stakeholders to reach more girls, Our goal is to reach one million girls in East Africa by 2025. We have already reached more than 1500 youth
