We saw an opportunity to make learning as simple as making a phone call.

Our goal is to make personalized education available in more moments of a student's life. Instead of requiring another screen, Luna allows students to learn while commuting, walking, cooking, or anywhere they can use a phone.

A student calls Luna and begins a natural conversation with their AI tutor.
They might ask Luna to help them learn Spanish, explain a difficult math concept, quiz them before an exam, or study from materials they have uploaded to their account. Luna can ask questions, provide explanations, use active recall, and adjust the conversation based on the student's responses.
Students can return later and continue their learning journey rather than starting over each time.
For blind and low-vision students, the experience can be completed through voice without needing to navigate a visual interface during the study session.
Luna can also support multiple languages, allowing students to learn a new language or interact with the tutor in the language most comfortable for them.
The experience is designed to feel less like operating educational software and more like calling a tutor who is available whenever the student needs help.
Since launching in 2025, Luna AI has grown to thousands of users and is being introduced through education and accessibility organizations in multiple countries.
Our initial growth has been particularly strong through partnerships and outreach within the blind and low-vision community. Luna has worked with organizations including Blind SA in South Africa and Vision-Aid in India, while also engaging accessibility organizations and education partners in the United States.
We are now expanding Luna into school districts, adult education programs, universities, and other organizations that can provide the platform to groups of students.
At the same time, individual students are discovering Luna for language learning, exam preparation, independent study, and everyday learning.
This combination of direct student adoption and organizational partnerships allows Luna to spread both individually and through education systems.
As Luna expanded internationally, we adapted the product to reduce barriers created by geography, language, and calling costs.
One of the most important developments has been adding WhatsApp access for international students. While a standard phone call works well in the U.S., international calling can be expensive or impractical in many markets. WhatsApp gives students another familiar, low-friction way to access Luna using technology they already use every day.
We have also expanded multilingual support, personalized learning journeys, uploaded study materials, conversational quizzes, and active-recall study sessions.
