As we all know most of the new generation will get jobs that don't exist today and there are very few adults that can prepare them for this challenging world full of new opportunities. Also the narrative, way of thinking that is being proposed is from from a different era. We are offering children the tool to become the ‘actors’ of their own stories trough playful creative thinking.
Storytelling is the building block of creativity. We are using the classic methodology of the 5Ws for storytelling but we have created for now 2 ways for the children to 'play' with this methodology and think innovatively. The 1st way we are proposing is to create a 'story adventure' from existing interconnected mini-stories. Children decide where to go from one stories to another and they can create a non-linear story by taking creative decision. If the proposed choices doesn't satisfy their imagination they can submit their suggestion. The 2nd way is to create a new story by choosing story ingredients (one for each W) from story worlds. They can submit their story in multiple form : audio, video, picture of their drawing, etc.. . Our team of writers/illustrator will capture those story idea, publish the story and credit the children.
We've been organizing story festival in school and children activities center for sometimes. We are now proposing Guppy Stories App for the school to run their own extra-curriculum story based activities and we got great feedback from teachers and school directors. Our goal for the next 2 years is to spread this initiatives across India in multiple languages, promote it internationally and add modules to provide other way to create story and create a community of co-creators.
