The Global Youth Awards were created to change the narrative around young people, focusing on the brilliant and innovative things that they are doing to change the world, rather than the few that are anti-social or destructive. It is run by young people for young people to show them that they are capable of anything they put their minds to when supported.
Anyone in the world between the ages of 11-25 can be nominated or self nominate for an award. It is completely free to enter and attend. all of our hosts, performers, judges and winners are young people. The categories are based on our Three Global Goals of education, environment and empowerment, but also include a creativity category.
All of the young people involved are invited to become Global Youth Ambassadors for RoundTable Global for a 12 month period (most stay well beyond) and access our global network of young people, business leaders and other activists. We are also frequently passed opportunities for them such as in 2019 an opportunity to attend a conference in Malaysia with the Dalai Lama. They also get to decide on the next years awards and to be involved in any way they wish to participate.
It really is bringing one global youth together.
We started in the UK in 2012 and have been growing the awards to include LA, South Africa, London and a One Global Youth online award to incorporate other countries. Due to the pandemic we combined all events in to one virtual celebration for 2020 and had performers, hosts and winners from 14 different countries and In 2021 we had nominations in from more than 35 different countries! A truly global celebration of youth which means we will continue to combine them all but with a live event held in London for 2022
We are always looking for like-minded individuals to support the awards with sponsorship or in kind. We are also keen to reach as many young people as possible and encourage youth to create projects for change that can be nominated. You can also nominate a young person here https://www.roundtable.global/global-youth-awards-2022
