I hope to see education become more engaging, accessible, and easier to sustain. Learning should not feel like a choice between having fun and making serious progress. With the right design, games can encourage regular practice while still helping learners build meaningful skills. Through Learn German with Games, I want to show that short, enjoyable learning experiences can complement traditional lessons and help people stay motivated. The broader change I hope to see is an education system that gives more attention to participation, consistency, and active practice, not only passive study and memorisation.

About the innovation

Why did you create this innovation?

I created Learn German with Games because many language-learning tools make practice feel repetitive and difficult to sustain. Learners often understand that consistency matters, but traditional exercises can quickly become boring. I wanted to create a more enjoyable way to practise German while still keeping the learning focused and meaningful. The idea behind the platform is simple: fun games for serious learning.

What does your innovation look like in practice?

Learn German with Games is a web and mobile learning platform where beginners practise German vocabulary and grammar through short, interactive games. Instead of only reading explanations or reviewing flashcards, learners actively work with words, articles, sentences, verbs, and meanings.

The games are designed for short daily sessions, so learners can practise without feeling overwhelmed. The content focuses on practical A1 and A2 German, including common vocabulary, noun articles, verb conjugations, and sentence structure.

How has it been spreading?

The platform has been growing mainly through organic search, recommendations, and people discovering the website while looking for ways to practise German online. Some users begin with the free website and later continue learning through the mobile app.

Growth has so far been organic rather than driven by large advertising campaigns. This has helped me see which games and learning topics attract users naturally and where learners find the most value.

If I want to try it, what should I do?

Visit learngermanwithgames.com and choose a game or vocabulary category that matches your level. You can start playing immediately in your browser. For the best results, practise for a few minutes each day and repeat the games regularly. The mobile app is also available for learners who prefer to practise on their phone.
