Our innovation was born out of a deep commitment to contribute to global efforts in elevating proficiency levels, particularly among underserved and rural communities in Uganda and across Africa. We recognized the need for tailored educational approaches to address unique challenges faced by these communities.
Our approach involves close collaboration with headteachers, class teachers, and parents. Through meaningful discussions, we identify critical skills and specific needs of students. We then source the necessary materials and design play strategies to enhance these skills. Our team provides guidance on routine and scheduling requirements, empowering parents to actively participate in their children's learning through engaging, child-led activities.
The spread of our innovation has primarily been organic, driven by word of mouth, referrals, and engagements with teachers and parents. Collaborations with children's event organizers and schools have also contributed to our reach. Additionally, during the COVID-19 pandemic, we've utilized digital platforms such as WhatsApp, social media, and phone calls to connect with interested parties. Our work has been recognized and featured in national newspapers, further amplifying our impact.
