Collaboration Laboratory was founded by a team of parents, educators and engineers who wanted more from the modern education system.
Instead of training young people to be systems thinkers, we are training them to be test takers. They know where the Middle East is, but they don't have a view on why conflicts keep happening. They know what AI is, but they have no concept of the ethics of AI.
Students from around the world join a cohort which meets weekly at the same time. The students are presented with a problem (be it a game, a discussion, an escape room) and they have to figure out the solution in their group.
The facilitators are there to support and guide, but never to answer any questions directly. We build in tension points and failure points into these problems so that the students can experience real world situations in a safe environment. We're here to help the students become more curious, more adventurous and more effective team workers.
Weekly and monthly feedback to the parents also enable us to coach the parents on how to continue this development at home
Mostly through word of mouth and parent communities. We've grown from nothing to 160 parents in the space of five months
