After more than a decade of working in edtech and teaching coding to thousands of students, from children to young professionals we saw a critical gap in how current tools support real learning. Too many platforms offer generic, one-size-fits-all solutions that fail to adapt to the unique needs of each learner, especially those who face challenges like ADHD, dyslexia, or other learning differences.
Bit&R was born from the belief that every child deserves a safe, accurate, and supportive learning experience, no matter their background or ability.
Bit&R empowers kids to learn real coding, not just block-based tools or pre-set functions and to create custom web games they can share with friends. In just three hours on the platform, kids gain the foundational skills needed to build their own websites and interactive experiences.
Through hands-on coding challenges and project-based learning, Bit&R guides kids through a continuous learning loop: they solve challenges, unlock new content, and then create their own games, which can be shared publicly to spark engagement and peer interaction, driving platform stickiness and a powerful network effect.
At the core of Bit&R is Robert, our co-pilot that helps kids design and build from ideas, explain thinking and iterate
and create working systems.
At the time of writing, we have onboarded over 700 users through our own NGO and coding events held in 15+ schools across Romania, Austria, Spain, Italy, and Greece. We also collaborate with three national and international NGOs focused on STEM education for children and teachers: Măgurele Science Park, Future Learning Lab Wien, and SuperTeach Romania.
Our data confirms strong product-market fit and engagement. Children spend an average of 5 hours per session, remarkably high for EdTech platforms targeting this age group. Robert is consulted 2.3 times per minute, indicating that learners actively rely on it for guidance. With a 57% correctness rate and frequent use of our in-platform Coddex dictionary (41 references/session), kids are building knowledge as they progress. On average, each learner creates and shares more than 5 games, and over 80% return after their first session, proving strong retention and satisfaction.
In 2024, we were honored as one of the 30 global finalists out of 2,018 startups for the Aurora Tech Awards for EdTech, and we received the Learning Impact Europe 2024 Prize for K–12 education.
