Education in the Metaverse

Since the pandemic, kids are spending hours every day on metaverse platforms like Roblox. They use it to socialize, play games, and make friends. We’re helping parents put that time to good use. Alea Learning is a 1-to-1 tutoring service built inside the metaverse. Students can go to class inside their favourit games (like Roblox). About the innovation

Why did you create this innovation?

Metaverse platforms have exploded in popularity over the pandemic. We are reimagining education for this new generation of metaverse-natives. We are confident that education will be the first industry to thrive on the metaverse because K-6 aged students are the only population where the metaverse has greater than 50% adoption. The teacher will be the first paying job in the metaverse.

What does your innovation look like in practice?

Parents buy a subscription for 12 classes per month. We create a personalized class schedule for the student based on the curriculum at their school and the area of focus selected by the parent. During these classes, the teacher and student join our metaverse classroom inside of Roblox. The entire class is centred around game-like activities which we’ve built to correspond to the major lessons of common curricula around the world.
After class, the student also has a hands-on assignment which tests their understanding of the day’s concepts. When they’re not in class, students can come back to the classroom and practice skills on our interactive activities. Our metaverse classroom is available 24/7 and it’s naturally social. Students sometimes bring their friends to come practice with them and that helps spread the word about our product.

How has it been spreading?

We began our pilot program one month ago and we have grown exclusively through word-of-mouth referrals. We have a 100% resubscription rate and rave reviews. We are also working with 2 school systems to build a curriculum for their students.

If I want to try it, what should I do?
