About the innovation

Why did you create this innovation?

Menstrual hygiene management is considered as taboo in many areas of Pakistan and girls can share their menstruated related problems to anyone and due to lack of communication, money and inaccessibility they use very unhygienic things for periods and as these things are not effective in controlling the blood stains they often miss schools in these days which affects their education.

What does your innovation look like in practice?

When girls will be trained to make their own pads in a very inexpensive and simple way they will feel confident to use them and will not miss the school days. The trainings will not only cover the pad making but in the trainings the girls will be educate about the menstrual related issues and after that they will be confident to talk on this topic with their families and friends. They will less likely to miss the schools and will perform better in grades. The pads which our trainings teach the girls to make will be reusable and thus no more waste disposable pads.

How has it been spreading?

It is still at ideation stage. Hence, no achievements so far. But once we will get the funding, we will start providing our service. Initially, it will be started from Hyderabad city but gradually cover the whole country.

If I want to try it, what should I do?

You can try our hand made pad and you can get it by simply contacting with us. If you want to attend the training or you want any of your friend or family member u can contact us in the regard also.
